Across all disciplines and ages, including the youth, and in any type of amateur sports there is no longer fear of acute side effects associated with doping products.
The International Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) estimates a 15 billion turnover of the illegal trade of doping products worldwide. The use of pain killers just before a sporting event has also grown. Especially popular are drugs that derive from livestock sold on the internet.
Journalist Johan von Mirbach meets scientists, investigators and athletes in order to reveal the reasons behind doping in amateur sports.
